The recovery in the university sector was particularly robust, achieving 86% of pre-pandemic enrollment levels. Furthermore, English language schools experienced an extraordinary 511% increase in enrollments, demonstrating their growing appeal to international students seeking language proficiency and cultural immersion.
China continues to lead as the largest source market for international students, constituting 35% of total enrollments. Following closely are India at 17%, Japan at 10%, South Korea at 5%, and Thailand at 4%, highlighting the diverse global interest in New Zealand's educational offerings. This surge in enrollments across various sectors underscores New Zealand's pivotal role in global education and its commitment to fostering international exchange and understanding.
