Under the U.K.-India Young Professionals Scheme, the U.K. will offer, annually, 3,000 degree-holding Indians in the 18–30-year age group places to work in the U.K. for up to two years.

The United Kingdom will offer 3000 students aged between 18 -30 with a bachelor's degree with an opportunity to work for two years in the United Kingdom. This scheme, the Young Professional Exchange Program, is all set to launch in 2023. The lobby is set to open in the first half of 2023 and will operate bilaterally. The UK Prime Minister Mr Rishi Sunak and the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi announced this at the G20 Conference in Indonesia.

Enhancing the mobility provisions for young professionals, Indian and British nationals have agreed on a decision for the first time, allowing them to live and work in both countries for up to two years.

India is the first "visa-national country" to gain from such a UK programme. This demonstrates the strength of the agreement reached last year between the UK and India regarding migration and mobility.

The May 2021 MoU wants to do more than make it easier for people to travel between the UK and India.

Ficci director-general Arun Chawla said his organization "welcomes" the establishment of the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme, noting that it will "provide the brightest young minds from both nations to work and live in the other country."
