What is a study permit?
 
 
A study permit and a temporary resident visa would be required for entering Canada as an international student.
How to apply for a study permit? TOP
 
The visa officer will process your application for a Temporary Resident Visa as well as a Study Permit. A separate application is not required by the student. The following steps are involved while applying for a study permit:
 
Collecting all the documents listed below.
* Completed student application form.
* Completed supplementary questionnaire for students and post doctoral researchers.
* Official letter of acceptance from the Canadian university, college or technical institute.
* TOEFL/IELTS scores if applicable
* Passport, valid for at least one year from the planned date of entry to Canada.
* Visa processing fees.
* Academic documents
* Financial documents
 
Completing the Application for a Study Permit- We suggest you to carefully fill the forms and follow the necessary instructions, as the study permit will be issued only after your application is accepted. We advise you to seek the help of our expert counsellors while filling the forms.
 
Processing Fee: The appropriate processing fee has to be included while applying for a Study Permit. The processing fee of an application for a study permit is CAD$5.00. This fee is non-refundable in case your application is refused or also in case you decide to withdraw your application. To verify acceptable methods of payment and the fee in local currency, we suggest taking help of our expert counsellors.
 
Complete Application Form: The students must make sure to carefully complete their application forms. We provide with a document checklist, which helps you to ensure that your application is complete.
Your application shall be returned to you if it is not signed.
 
Supply additional information or documents when requested by the Visa Office. The additional documents can include: Medical Examination; Police Certificates etc
 
Funding required is tuition fees, CAD $10,000 towards living expenses and return air fares.

* Processing time is 2 to 3 weeks
* Please submit medical results with the study permit application form
* Bank loan letter are the best option for application under this scheme.
Is a medical examination required? TOP
 
The students can be required clearing a medical exam if he/she:
* Belongs to a country with high health risks; or
* if he/she will be studying or working in a place where protection of public health is essential.
* Instructions on how to proceed with a medical examination will be sent to you, if it is essential. In case you happen to require a medical examination, processing of your application can possibly take at least three extra months.
* For SPP applications please include medical results.
* Check on medical centres with local VFS
Is a Police certificate/ Certificate of good conduct requiredd TOP
 
* In case you have not already got a police certificate for good conduct when submitting your application, you can be required to get it done.
* A visa officer may request a police certificate to verify your admissibility to Canada.
* There are chances that people who have committed or been convicted of a crime or offence, are prohibited from entering Canada.
* Criminal or security background checks shall be performed by police agencies. These checks may be done for anyone 18 years of age and over ,applying for a study permit.
Who can apply for a study permit TOP
 
Those accepted by a school, college, university or any other educational institution in Canada.
You must prove that you have enough money to pay for your:
* Tuition fees
* Living expenses for yourself and any family members who comes with you to Canada and
* Return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada.
* You must be a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record and not be a risk to the security of Canada. You may have to provide a police certificate.
* You must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination, if necessary.
* You must satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada when you have completed your studies.
Who may be exempted from applying for a study permit? TOP
 
* If you wish to study in a short-term course or program:
* Foreign representatives to Canada
* Members of foreign armed forces
